This is just a gentle reminder that we are not here to determine if someone is faking or not faking (DID or otherwise). We are also not here to diagnose or to judge.

Psych Central is first and foremost a support site. Thank you all for keeping that in mind.

Thanks wantto.

I was looking for the old posting guidelines for this forum. Remember Doc had a sticky saying what was and was not appropriate? I suspect it got lost in the move. Gentle reminder

!!

Sorry guys...

I do value everyones opinion and I apologize if I came off negatively. I appreciate the support and appreciate being able to return the favor.

I will do my best to keep things in check. It's not my desire to offend anyone...I just want to make sure that the info that comes through is as accurate as possible, and that people keep an open mind when it comes to what is what. Life is not an exact science.

It seems like everyone here wants that.

Once again, sorry if I pushed my ideas to far. I'll make sure to pay more attention.

Orange, I was looking for it as well. I will try to hunt it down and get it on a sticky.

((((((((((((((Elysium3006)))))))))) This is a general reminder and not aimed at anyone specific. It's good that we all remember. Sometimes our emotions might get in the way of that due to triggers or other things. It's just good to see it out there sometimes to remind us all.

I too am sorry if I offended anyone. The conversation wasnt about whether or not someone here was faking a mental disorder.

In the thread about my diagnostics I wrote that my college professor told me that the diagnosis DDNOS is for when you dont have all the symptoms for one dissociative disorder and is also sometimes used when someone is faking.

I got a reply back saying she had never heard of DDNOS being used for people who fake it.

I replied back giving details about two people that I met in the hospital where DDNOS was used for those two people in the hospital that were faking it the first ones reason for faking it was because she was trying to use the mental illness defense for shoplifting and the other person in the hospital did it to have a warm place to stay for the weekend because she was homeless.

I didnt mean anyone here to take that conversation to mean there were people here that were faking it.

Just want to reiterate that this is a general reminder about support- not directed specifically. I know for me, I have been in a vulnerable state in the past and just needed gentle support without condemnation. When it's not received, it only furthers my vulnerable state. When it is received, it helps me toward healing.

Thank you all.

That is a perfect description, wantto.

But . . it might not apply to everyone so I'm going on record saying that I'm only speaking for Me, Myself and I.
