To anyone that has filed for divorce, have you ever regretted it? and Why?

Hello, I'm replying as I see you've not received any replies yet. I don't want you to feel ignored. We are here to support you.

I had no regrets getting divorced. Technically, he filed but we both wanted the divorce. I needed the divorce as I was in a toxic marriage that was irretrievably broken. I'm very happy now and never looked back.

Perhaps tell us more about your situation.
Thanks for this!

Hi Robyn,

I cannot speak for divorce. I can share the fact that I have broken off long-term relationships, including an engagement. It was the sane thing to do. I have no regrets. My life has only improved.

It was tough, at the time, to let go of the miserable/toxic relationships, as we come to love those with whom we are close, even when there is some toxicity involved. It's tough to give up and to say "goodbye." These are necessary losses, losses which open up new doors, show us some new possibilities.

I have been married for 22 years. We have had our ups and downs. In the earlier stages, we needed some help via marriage counseling. This really helped us to communicate better and to understand one another much better. Our trials have only brought us closer. Our friendship has continued to grow over the years. We are truly best friends.

Letting go of relationships we have outgrown leaves room in our lives for new relationships, ones in which we can continue to grow together.

I hope this helps in some way.

My Best to You,
WC
