Hello. I am new to the forum and happy to be here. My wife of 15 years has decided she would like a divorce. This was a HUGE shock and, she admitted to cheating for a while now and is in love with this new person.

I am heart broken and completely devastated. We are living together with the kids until divorce processes and we divide assets.

I can't function at all. I cry all the time and am always shaking. I have no idea how I am going to get through this. I have no idea how I can sit down and have a rational conversation with the kids about this.
Hugs from:

Welcome! So Sorry that this is happening! i suppose it must be really hard when you find out such things. Please do not give up. Have you tried to talk to your Wife about what's making her unhappy in your Marriage to the point of doing that? Have you tried to propose couple counseling to her? If she is firm in her positions then i am afraid that there isn't much you can do but perhaps i am in the wrong! Definitely try to pursue individual therapy for this as well. So Sorry, you don't deserve this at all in my opinion at least. Sending many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @Scott1866, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

Thank you very much for the support. We have talked about our relationship. She said she has fallen in love with the other guy and is going to be with him. She was pretty firm there. I am in therapy, which is helping.

Scott - glad to hear therapy may be helping. Can I ask what kind of therapy you searched for? Is it some sort of specific divorce or mental health aspects? Curious your feedback and hope you are doing ok as I'm researching for something similar...

I feel your pain. 6 weeks ago my wife of 17 years was talking about renewing our vows; today I was served with Divorce papers after being expelled from my home for the past 30 days.

Hello friend, i am currently going through this as well.Staying in the same house as the wife and kids while knowing she is done. This is very hard and It’s a constant struggle. The best thing I have learned from this is to be strong in front of her and let her know you are getting through it.It is ok to say your feelings but don’t beg her to stay. All I have been doing is working on the man I want to be and understand where I went wrong and change my ways. Best of luck to you friend.PM me If you ever need to talk.I am 100 percent sure I will be on here a hefty amount

I understand your situation as I am in somewhat of a similar place. My kids are grown and out of the house so in that way my challenge on that front is less. Still I also cry often and struggle to believe this is my new reality. Glad you are in therapy. Surround yourself with as much support as you can!
