I have cut way back on the amount of creamer i use and switched to International Delight from Coffee Mate because ID uses only sugar and not Saccharin or Sucralose. |

@Tart Cherry Jam -
I had a good talk with wife last night. Turns out, there's a bit more to this than just my previous bad habits and inability to see the big picture. Last night she told me that we had fulfilled a "soul contract" and that no two souls can continue together once the terms of the contract are fulfilled. In our case, she said, the contract was for us to both evolve and learn and grow. She also talked about how two people, who are on different vibrational frequencies, cannot be together because of a mismatch in energy. As i am understanding this, she believes that the purpose for us being together/marrief for 8 years was to help us both learn and evolve from one another. She feels (apparently) that her work in this area is complete and there's nothing left for her to accomplish. It also explains the lack of sexual intimacy over the past 3 years and the abrupt stop in our sexual activity a little over a year ago. I had always blamed it on the hysterectomy or menopause, but her explanation shed new light on this subject. She explained that two people - like us - can be "soulmates," but only in the spiritual sense and those people can actually not connect in the physical world, and she maintains that this is the case with us. So, if im understanding this correctly, her feeling is that we came together to learn from each other and prosper for a limited time (in this case, 9 years) and its time for her soul to ascend to the next level alone. Kinda cosmic, but i have no choice but to accept it. |

I was just thinking that your wife sounds very narcissistic and matter of fact cold.

I was once totally unable to see how my actions affected others. I was selfish, which i came by naturally as an only child, and i never was able to pick up on signals, so i spent a long time not understanding why someone was hurt and couldn't see how i had hurt them. I learned this only through therapy. About a year ago, i had an experience where my eyes opened and i began to see all the things i had been oblivious too. I could suddenly feel what others felt or how something i said or did had hurt them. It was like taking off a blindfold. But, i guess it was too late to save us. |

Now, i just concentrate on making the people around me feel valued.
I try not to complain and project positivity, even if I'm feeling down or depressed. I'm praying for the chance to be something somebody can appreciate. |

@JustTotallyLost, you are very kind to try to attempt sensemaking with respect to all this stuff about vibrations energies and soul contracts. Your current wife is truly lucky to have you. I am sure you will have more than one chance to make other people appreciate you.

My wife is out with her girlfriend. I picked up our daughter from her work. Came home, had a couple shots of scotch.

Not often at all. In fact, the bottle of scotch i had on hand was from 2 years ago. I just thought it might be fun to kill the last 2 shotglasses left in the bottle, since i was home for the evening. It was just a nice, warm feeling.
Every now and then, i may drink a beer after gardening, when its really hot outside, but its rare beyond those circumstances. I'm not against alcohol, in as much as I'll accept a glass of wine if i am having dinner, but i don't drink for recreation. |
