I have a harrowing notion that none of this will change or improve: I feel like I'll be stuck in an endless loop of grief, sadness, heartbreak. I used to be a lot tougher; not any more. Just another sad, lonely old man. Separation and impending divorce is simply hideous. Brokenhearted... and that'll never change. God help me.

I feel sorry for your pain, Arkady...

How long have you been in this loop of grief, sadness, heartbreak?

Do you have a psychologist and pdoc? You need someone to talk to, asap, imo.

Possible trigger:

You need the time, place and safety to grieve. Try to make time to cry. Not enough men feel they're allowed to.

What are some of the things you used to enjoy doing by yourself? As a kid? Make a list and try to reconnect with doing some of those things.

Make sure you're getting healthy food, adequate sleep and exercise. Take yourself for a walk in a new neighbourhood. Take yourself out for breakfast somewhere and bring a nice magazine.

Invest in self-care...

Keep posting...

Hugs, if wanted...

I've been following your story @Arkady Jameson - I do hope you come out of it soon. TheGal gave some great advice to help you in your time of healing.

Hang in there.

Thanks to both of you. I dearly love my wife but I'm a little conflicted. I'd like nothing better than to go home but this isn't the first time I've been thrown out, just the most serious. If she were to relent and I went home... that's probably a set-up for the next time she gets furious with me. As much as I miss her, I don't miss all the name calling. It's tough to be browbeaten regularly. But none of that changes my heartbreak. Hopefully, like a fever, it'll break one day.
Thanks for this!
