Hi ,

Some of you may remember my plight with the dental school and how they treated me so disrespectfully back in March for .having had an ED . I don't want to go ito it its to painful to reveiw.

well its been exactly a year when my back molar cracked . I started my journey for a sliding scale dentist a year ago in August. which landed me at the dental school. and quickly OUT!

Well today,
I got an early christmas present .

If you can visualize this.

I was hugged by the dental receptionist shortly after I arived . ( On time) I was so sad this morning . Everytime I see couples or people together or families preparing for the holidays I breack down and cry .

So she asked if I was ready for christams . And I blurted out "I wish It was over." I have never told anyone that befor.

I usually contain it but this morning since I was crying befor my appontment I couldnt hold it in. In fact Im crying right now.

The receptionist came out from behind her desk and gave me the warmes't hug for a LONG time while I cried.

After , I was layed in a reclining chair and covered with a blanket .by this abslutely wonderful ( german I think ) dental assitant who couldn't do enough to make me feel comfortable. She tried to give me two Blankeys . Then They gave me a remote for the TV !

Yes ,they have a TV embeded into the celing! . we are talking thinking outside the box here! SO I had my kniting while I watched TV as I waited to get Numb. and they worked on another patient.

Before they started drilling . The dentist asked me if I would like to listen to music.? I said well Okay . there was a long pause because I'm very sensitive to lyrics in music and get emotionaly trigggered easily and end up crying In the chair. I was hoping It would be Walmart Musac or music with out words. .

He gave me sound proof head phones and his MP3 player . tiniest one I have ever seen . 1"by1" and he showed me the controls .

He beagn working on ,my two back molars while looking through a high tech Microscope one of the few used in the country I was told..

First song to play was James Taylor " In my mind Im going to Carolina ...." I was pressing those buttons FAST ! LOL! The next song was

LYing eyes By the Eagals when IT got to the part

Late at night a big old house gets lonely

"every form of refuge has it's price" stood out prominently .

a very good line don't you agree? I know Tiffer would. It reminded me of one of her poems where she said 'alone with an ED."


So the lids were wavering.. eyes glistening. blaming myself for my aloneness feeling judged . by a few people I know. I did another double click and landed on

I like the movie Ronin and loved Katerina Witt skating to it . So i listened to the entire song . from there i managed to manuver past More James Taylor and found the likes Of Man hiem steam roller. music.

perfect for the masive excavation going on..

I've been to a number of dentist in my years and had lots of work done /

These two were a TEAM ! . They drilled my molars down . then walled up the sides of what was barely left and recontructed them with bonding !

like reserecting the twin towers.

I never saw such dilligent work! And when they were done I had two white teeth with NO huge amalgums .

No 1000.00 dollar crowns ! to worry about!

And unlike the dental school (where I paid 140.00 for ex rays and berateing comments told "should I get the work done if I going to grind it away? " and No work done .)

My new dentist did not charge me for ANY of it.

So I got my two back teeth for Christmas....

and hes not done yet. i go back for some more work iN a few days.

I have much to be grateful for .

YAY OMIGOSH (((((((Patricia))))))))) that is AWESOME... I'm glad you found a better dentist who will treat you with the respect you deserve. Not enough people understand EDs and that we're people too!
