Hi Katie,

I don't believe anyone hates you here. I am sorry you feel that way, and I hope I can help you by telling you I found you to be a delightful person. I am sorry I have not been in contact as of late, I had a tragedy in my family, but things have become a little more stable, so I have a bit of free time...

As far as why people want you to eat, well, they want you to be well enough to go home and to take care of yourself so that you have many years to recover and enjoy the good things that life does have to offer...

Your age is such a difficult time, but you will now always feel this sadness. Really, I remember well that time in my life, and it gets so much better, and life can be so much fun! Really, it can and will. Please try to hear what the docs are saying, they want the best for you.

Love,

Kris

don't feel so down, just think - this will all be over and you'll be able to live happily and enjoy the wonders of life. you CAN get through this, you just need to believe that you can, and it will happen. if you want to cry, don't hold it in. just remember that despite what you think, not everybody hates you. look forward to the good things in life!

Dear kate,

I'm sorry that you feel so alone. Are away from home and miss everyone?

Does it seem like people hate you because they insist that you eat and won't let you go home?

You asked why they insist that you eat. Here is why. They insist that you eat because they want you to live. They know that anorexia impairs thinking. That is why people with anorexia often make unhealthy, dangerous decisions, such as not eating. When you are well enough to make safe decisions, they will let you go home.

kate, what is your day like? Could you tell a little about an average day? Please post again so we can know how you are doing.
Thanks for this!

I assume you are in some sort of treatment center. Try to trust that the people your interact with are professionals trained to help people with anorexia and that it would be wise to head their advice. Perhaps you can write letters/make phone calls to friends or family members for support if you feel like you aren't getting any where you are. Sometimes it helps to hear it from people you love and trust. I know recovery seems insane to you right now, but it won't always. Just try to trust others.
