Hi Coco, your cravings and your anxiety may be connected (sorry if Im stating the obvious!).
You say you do eat, but not healthily. So this would be a good place to start…and importantly, to then continue. Back to the basics – three balanced means a day with a healthy snack in between.
Nutritional deficiencies can exacerbate cravings as can intakes of refined carbs/sugars, sugary drinks, and stimulants etc, or lack of adequate protein or healthy fats. See http://www.coping-with-binge-eating....s-summary.html and http://www.coping-with-binge-eating.com/cortisol.html. Or have a read of books like ‘Potatos Not Prozac’ by Kathleen Des Maisons.

What type of exercise are you getting? ‘Body conscious’ type of exercise such as Tai Chi or Yoga are excellent for relaxation, stress control, deep breathing, controlling blood pressure, and improving self esteem. Or just plenty of good old fashioned walking of course.

Connections between stress, food cravings and conditions such as fibromyalgia are also discussed in a book ‘The Stress Effect’ by Richard Weinstein, so that may be worth a read – it goes a bit into detail about expensive investigations, but the basics about the connections between stress, hormone responses and the impact on the rest of our health is excellent.

Also, it sounds like a ‘mindfullness’ approach could be useful, again as this can help tackle both the anxiety and cravings…. Take a look at eatingthemoment.com.
Hope that’s a help Coko,

Whats the one small step you could take today or tomorrow to help you on your way…even if its just finding out about this or that…making one small improvement to your heathy eating….?

Best Wishes, and please post back soon
