Hi All

I have a question concerning eating disorders. I am 25yrs old and am concerned that i have some type of eating disorder. I have looked it up on the internet, and have a few symptoms of different disorders: I think about losing weight all the time, calorie counting, I exercise everyday, sometimes twice a day. I have binged a bit, but only have purged a few times in the last few years. I haven't really thought about going to therapist as I don't have any bad physical side affects. I am a regular weight for my height etc. I know about bulimia, but don't feel that i have all the symptoms associated with it. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Sarah

To really know whether or not you have an eating disorder, you should talk to a professional. In any case, it seems like concerns about your weight are causing your problems in your life...and that means it's a problem for you, whether or not you have an "official" eating disorder.

The label is not the important thing but if the behavior is disrupting your life then it is something you may want to pursue therapy for. A therapist can help you wade through all your perceptions and behaviors around food and help you learn to cope in positive ways. It sounds like you have some concerns so it may be beneficial to see someone and let them decide how serious your symptoms are. Good luck.

Sounds like you've got ED-NOS...
