I dont know why i still do it, every time i eat something i have to make myself throw up after, i know it dosn't make you loose weight but i have to.
At first it was because i felt guilty for eating but i know now that i shouldn't but for some reson i still do it and its taking over my life. I dont eat at school because i can throw up there and i try not to eat with my family anymore.
I just dont know why i do it and its getting hader to stop.

Dear Cherry Bomb,
Bulimia is a lot like your name - if not handled correctly, it can blow up in your face. I strongly urge you to seek out help right away. It is so much easier to recover from an eating disorder when it first starts, because you can address the real issues that caused it and avoid making years of bad habits you'll have to overcome.

Please talk to a school counsellor or psychologist. You'll need a medical doctor to evaluate you - bulimia has some serious health consequences that you need to be checked for. If you read these forums, you'll hear people saying things like, it's not what you're eating, but what's eating you. To understand what is causing you to feel the need to purge, you should seek the support of a counsellor who specializes in eating disorders. These pages, and organizations that are listed in the top of this forum, can help you find a good therapist. It's important to talk to someone, and though working with someone who is familiar with bulimia is very helpful, since they don't get bogged down in the food issues and help steer you to the cause behind the food issues - since it's so early for you, talking to any professional is better than going down the path you're currently on.

I've been bulimic for more than 27 years - maybe even twice as long as you've been alive - and I beg you to think about the life you really want, not just the life you think you can have. Bulimia is a one way ticket to hell and desperation. Please don't take it.

Best regards and wishes for successful treatment
Bub
