Either direction with weight can be an ED......overeating is just as much of a disorder as not eating enough. When I was in an eating disorders treatment center, there were more who were overweight than under. It's just as unhealthy for the body also.

I have many friends who's stress causes them to eat as much as stress for me causes me NOT to eat....both are problems.

Glad to hear that you are going to the gym in your new town.....give you a chance to meet people & also mainly to care for yourself. You know, the exercise & working the weight off slowly is the most healthy thing for your body. I had gained way too much after loosing way too much but had horrible migraines where I couldn't get out of bed without getting sick. Once we found a med to control the pain, I was able to get back to riding my horse & I was surprised at how nicely the weight started to come off with just riding my horse as exercise. Unfortunately, I went through a trauma just after I started riding again & the stress caused me to loose too much weight again. But now I am at a healthy weight.....so it is possible & it does feel good.

Hope you can keep up your energy & desire to get healthy & keep working at it because it's really worth it.

Welcome to PC moongirl. We're a very supportive community (I hope) so you've come to the right place. Change (i.e. moving) is a natural part of life, but it can be tough sometimes. Hopefully, things will get easier and more pleasant as time passes. The gym is great. I work out regularly myself and it's very enjoyable. Keep it up. Exercise makes you cheerful as well as healthy.

(((Moongirl))) Bravo to you for reaching out now. I waited until I was 38. I was the 'fat girl' from the age of 8 on up to this past year. I lost weight I'm almost at my goal weight. I have friends now because I hold no shame. I smile more and people respond to that in a very positive way. I don't 'hide' anymore. Keep posting as it helped me in a very big way. Many hugs and you can do this. One step at a time.

Glad you are here..like somebody previuosly said..weight doesnt really matter. Eating disorder...disordered eating..can go either way. Heck at one point I weighed a substantial amount (wont ever go on that med again) and for trying not to trigger anyone and I just got out of the hospital for anorexia. Uot on Tuesday and by Friday my wt was back to where it was before I went in...yep ..disordered eating you could say. I havent been on here in a long time so I had to create a new profile and all so I hope you get what you need from here welcome
