Because I have a feeling my alters tell my body what I like to eat an tells body to make me hunger for it if both body an alters sense I have not eaten for awhile or close to passing out

This question would likely get more replies in the DD forum but my guess is yes. They are here to protect you, keep your body going and when you are restricting/purging etc your alters can come out to be sure you get what you need to survive, it is their purpose after all. I have known some alters to come out and eat when the body was not getting enough. As well as some alters come out to take meds when the core or other alters do not want the meds... Better answered by the DD forum, but I do think it's a high chance.

My guess is also yes. surely, your alters want to take care of you. Maybe you are a teensy bit aware of what theyve been up to. Good luck.

Yes indeed. Odds are you have at least one personality who's job is to do just that: take care of the body etc. Now if you also have one that loves to eat and makes you a little heavy, and then you (or another get scared of gaining a little weight) stop eating so you don't... It sure can get better as all of you begin communicating and sharing more.

oh yea alters can go against what you are doing. in fact thats one of the diagnostic criteria for having DID. you have to have at least two alters that repeatedly take control, that have their own way of being that isnt shared by you or any of the other alters.

what that means is they have their own purpose /jobs, ways of eating, ways of drinking (not necessarily alcohol but its been known to happen lol), ways they like to dress, what they like to do.

Im integrated now but one of my alters used to smoke when I the host never smoked, go out to the bars when I never frequented bars. one of my alters absolutely loved eating mashed potatoes, broiled steak to medium rare and string beans. me Give me a pizza any day lol and some days a bag of chips and in my days of having an eating disorder nothing for me thanks, but that alter made sure I had three nutritious meals a day. I believe without that alter whos job it was to make sure I had enough nutritional food a day to survive I would be dead now.

having an eating disorder myself I know how it is to not want to nor need to nor crave food but having DID I got luckier than others I knew with eating disorders that were not DID and ended up dying of starvation and other eating disorder problems.

Alters were created by your mind as it's way of protecting & caring for you in continued stressful situations......so it would make sense that they would protect you against yourself trying to harm yourself with not eating. Glad your alter's are being good to you when you are trying not to be.
