I have had an eating disorder for many years ( not diagnosed ) and i have gone from being thin to fat am now obese...At the moment am restricting eating under a set amount a day ( half of the daily guidelines for a women some times less than that ) Some times i purge as well after i eat
I have tried to get help from my dr and all she dose is weight me
She said that i really need to see a dietitian but where i live the dietitians only see people who are under a set BMI am not under that BMI also if your are over that BMI You have to be diabetic before they will see you
This through the NHS and i cant afford to do it any other way apart from through the NHS ...so i have to wait until am under a set amount before i can get any help and i have looked for support groups in my area there is none at all , unsure what else i can do now ...i just feel so let down and i feel i may as well lose all the weight this way so i can get help once am down under that BMI but by then it may be too late

Are you in the usa? If so, call your local community hospital and ask to speak to the nutritionist, most times they will let you come in and talk to them at no charge. I know they do here where i live . Hope this helps you a bit, even if you aren't in the usa, maybe call the local hospital where you are and ask them the same thing.

Thanks for this!

I'm bulimic myself and what I ended up having to do is looking in the yellow pages for nutrionists. I called every single one telling them what I'm doing. Mainly my story. Some will work with you and use a slidding scale based on your income. I found someone that did do that for me and I pay 20 dallors a visit. Which I see her once every 2 weeks. Hope that helps.
