I think the medical weight designations for the height & bone structure are a good thing to base healthy weigh goals on. Eating a balanced healthy diet is the best way to loose or gain & to stay within the healthy limits which are defined for each person's body structure. When one observes how the balanced diet works then the actual amounts can be adjusted on personal basis to get the weight stabilization more accurate.

I am planning to acheive a realisticly acheivable wieght/size/mass that I have previously been. SO... if anyone used a specific strategy that worked for them feel free to share.

(Not all people with eating Disorders are underweight)

insideout- tips for losing weight contact your doctor, there are many physician approved diet plans that can help you lose weight. I am on the other end of this where I tend to lose too much weight so my doctor has me on a diet that keeps me in the normal weight range for my height and age on his weight chart. My wife has the other end of this issue and she is also on a doctor approved diet that keeps her weight down in the normal range for her height and weight..

the similarities in our diet is that we eat balanced meals example tonight we had baked skinless chicken, a tossed salad w/shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion, green pepper, croutons, a glass of water) for desert we had strawberry shortcake.

writing actual numbers is not allowed but I can say the serving sizes were a single serving like what you would find on the packages, not supersized.

Alright folks,

To set the record straight about a few things -

Yes, it is possible to have an eating disorder and be technically overweight, according to a BMI or other measure. There are some eating disorders, like overeating/bingeing etc, which are classified as an eating disorder that can result in someone being overweight and not underweight like other eating disorders. No, we do not allow pro-ana or pro-mia discussion here, so individuals asking how to make their eating disorder worse or asking how to develop an eating disorder would be posting against our guidelines.

We do not allow discussion of numbers here in this forum, specifically relating to BMI, weight, clothing sizes or calories. Anything involving numbers can be very triggering for a lot of individuals hence why we have this specific rule for this forum.

I must ask you to all abide by our guidelines in posting here or elsewhere on PsychCentral. All posts must be about giving support or asking for it.

We have specific subforums for different eating disorders so if you feel your topic/thread may be better suited for one of the subforums, please post it there. If you think your thread needs a trigger icon, then feel free to add one.

All this being said, healthy weight loss tips is a topic that is permitted here providing it is done with care and understanding in relation to eating disorders. For those interested we also have a subforum in the Health Support forum directly dealing with weight loss support as well.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
