Never for a moment thought i would post here again. In my house i'm a grown woman. i think you really never recover fully. lately with everything going on i can easily slip from eating nothing all day. I just don't think about eating i go to the kitchen come back with nothing don't want to bother. Thinking that with the pain disorder that stuck with me forever it's easy for me to go without eating and not feel a thing so use to it. I can have a level 10 pain and not even know it i have pain till i think about it.

Hi Avoice, are you getting nutrition? I ask because my husband is on pain medications also and doesn't want to eat sometimes, so we buy the higher calorie supplement drinks.
My eating habits are out of control, with either overeating or not eating. I hope your pain gets better.

I do that all the time....more in the winter....when it's cold in the house....I have one of my eskies in the kitchen because he fights with my other boy who is upstairs with the rest of us in the warm part of the house during the winter....but then I will go down in the kitchen to take care of him & totally forget about food....I get distracted & sometimes go a few days without eating until I realize I'm going to pass out from low blood sugar.

I'm the only human in my house & I know I have to take care of myself to take care of my dogs....& go figure I'm going to be 60 in a couple of weeks. Just mostly don't have an interest in food to start with. It's easy to forget about eating when the body doesn't really tell me I'm hungry....from the many years of not eating enough anyway.

When I get stressed, the my metabolism seems to jump high & without eating & with the higher metabolism, the weight loss gets greater also.

I know I have to keep myself healthy to take care of my dogs....but sometimes it's so hard between not sleeping well & not eating well.....I get involved in things & just ignore the most important things for living healthy. I don't always understand how this happens....I loose track of time also & there are times that by the time I realize I haven't eaten it's 4am in the morning & I'm trying to figure out what I want to eat for dinner.......UGH.

I can relate to how you are feeling.....but sometimes it feels strange to me that by my age, I'm not better at this taking care of myself life thing......know at times keeping the weight down is an issue if I've seen it creeping up....but most of the time it drops so quickly if I don't eat, it's NOT GOOD

((((((((((((avoice)))))))))))--me too. Especially about the pain part.

Also, ((((eskielover)))...yes...I force food. I'm too old to lose large amounts of weight the way I used to. I have to even though I wanna gag. I need to keep functioning, and to function, ya have to have nutrients. I have people (adult kids) who still need me...gotta keep going for them! (they are fighting with each other right now...worries me) and for my grandkids. The sleep part has also always been an issue for me... 4 am...yes, what to eat, what to eat? I didn't eat yesterday....oh no!

You too ((((((((a voice))))))))--told ya once... I do it, though they are expensive; they are a decent meal----Carnation Instant Breakfasts--in the bottles. I just pop one open and slug it down===me no fall down r/t no sugar in my bloodstream.

Hugs all----you are not alone... I forget all the time to eat. I be a dum dum?...

A lot of us older people struggling with eating issues do have similar struggles we have to deal with & force ourselves to get through.

I still can't get myself to drink ensure after the 2 months in the ED treatment center back in 1996.....but then I had foods that I ate when I was sick with the flu & still can't stomach eating them....know people without ED issues that have the same problem.
