Why do these stupid doctors put me on medicine that makes me fat when I am not eating anything with calories?

The medications do either gain or loose weight from my experience. What first started my anorexia was prozac for me, it caused a horrible weight loss of top of the stress which normally causes me to not want to eat either....put them both together & wham, that's how it effected me. Wellbutrin after the prozac did the same thing with the weight loss.....but then for some, it has the opposite effect, so it's hard to tell how meds will effect each person.
After a horrible trauma I went through, I lost so much weight was put in the medical hospital with IV nutrition. My pdoc gave me seroquel so I could sleep with all the nightmares I was having....seroquel is supposed to be a weight gain med, but it took me over a year after the trauma to even get back up to a safe weight......sometimes our own matabolism can override what the meds do, but at other times not. It's so difficult to determine how anything will specifically work in each individual case.....sorry you are struggling so bad, but I definitely understand from others how it's a struggle what you are experiencing ![]() ![]()
