Anyone try meds that make you not want to eat? I'm trying to find something I can ask my dr to prescribe me to suppress my appetite to deal with my binge eating. When I started celexa, for the first few days it suppressed my appetite but then it came right back. I've even been considering taking over te counter diet pills but I'm worried about the dangers of it plus I tried one once and I had a really bad reaction to it.

You should definitely talk to your dr. Before taking any (even otc) kind of appetite suppressant, but be prepared for them to say no. Here's why. Almost every suppressant is a stimulant. If you already binge eat, this alone is putting a strain on your heart. The added strain of a stimulant could be dangerous. Its much safer - and will have much better long term results - if you work with your dr/therapist/whomever is a part of your care to change your behaviors and learn new ways to cope with urges.
I really do know that this is much much much easier said than done. its a lot of hard work, but just keep your belief in yourself. You can do it. Small progresses that will add up to a lot.

Drinking hot things makes you feel full. My T told me to stop drinking coffee first thing in the morning because it helps me in not eating. So I am in no way telling you that's what you should do, I'm just saying my experience.
