If there weren't issues that you are trying to deal with you wouldn't have the eating problem. From your other post in the depression forum, it sounds like life is really difficult for you right now, and you are coping with it the best way that you know how. You said that you have an appointment to start therapy, so you are on the right track. It seems that cognitive behavior therapy is probably the most effective treatment for binge eating. I think that that is what will probably help you the most.

Didn't you say that you already have lots of self-help books, but are having trouble getting through them? If you feel like it, maybe you could pick just one and just try to read a page or a paragraph a day, and put into practice what you learn. Self-help programs can work if you follow through with them, but sometimes you need a "coach" to encourage you to keep working on getting better, and that is where therapy comes in. You can also come here and we can help encourage you too. I found this website about binge eating that you can look at and see if anything there helps you. http://www.123-binge-eating.com/

Don't hesitate to go to the emergency room if you need help fast. I'm worried that you have just run out of your medications and are in withdrawal. You don't have to put up with that; even if you do want to get off of the meds, tapering off would be less hard on you.

Let us know how you are doing, okay? I hope you will keep coming back here and talking to us. i am tired of food running my life.....
