The longer I struggle with restricting the more I'm realizing how my body is responding. I've lost a lot of weight this past year but it's definitely needed. However, It seems to be that whenever I restrict for a long period of time and then am forced to have a meal, I feel dizzy after finishing the meal. I assume this is probably blood sugar related but I don't know. Aside from not restricting, is there anything I can do to help ease this a bit? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi NoddaProbBob

This is a very good question.

Have you asked your treating medical practioner why these symptoms occur?

I am thinking that there could be different psychological and physical phenomena interacting that may be causing this.

Medical opinion can certainly help shed some light on this situation for you.

Take care.

I was going to ask my Primary MD when I saw her the other day...unfortunately she doesn't know that I'm struggling with an ED...
I haven't seen her in about a year or so. Needless to say, she was thrilled with my weightloss. I was and am still significantly overweight (based on standardized measurements, not my own perceptions). And after she praised me over and over, I didn't have the heart to tell her what was going on.

It's so odd. The praise is so encouraging. I know we're not supposed to post how much we've lost on here, so I won't, but let's just say that the amount of weight that I've lost flagged the computer when she input my weight. So after she continued to praise me, I felt so stupid for trying to tell her that I was struggling. At first I was losing weight in a healthy manner. Then it spiraled out of control over the summer.

She asked me how I was losing it and what was working for me. She asked a bit about my nutrition, and I told her what I was eating when I do eat. Just left out that I wasn't eating consistently, or barely at all. Not nearly enough to meet energy requirements.

So Idk...I have a feeling my blood sugar is significantly low from not eating and then when I do eat, it spikes my blood sugar, thus making me dizzy and tired.
It could be something else, but this is all I have knowledge of at this point.

Sigh...it's a work in progress.
