I am at a complete loss as to what to do. I've been grappling with a stomach problem for a year. I'm being seen by an Internist, but everything takes so long. Months waiting to see him. Months before tests, scopes, etc. Months to wait to see him again. Months to try this drug. It's just endless waiting, in pain and nauseated, for yet another test, another drug, wait, wait, wait. I can't stand it anymore. What is wrong with me? Eating causes horrific stomach pain. I don't know what to do.

I struggled for a few years with extreem stomach pains...I ended going to a gastroenterologist and then ongoing tests for about another year to two years....finally they diagnosed me with gastroparesis and colitis. Both a direct result of prolonged, extensive abusue of anorexia. And yes it is very painful, extreme nausea, non self induced vomiting after meals because the food digests so slowly in your gut or takes so long to dump from your esphogus.I wish you the best of luck.

I'm curious. I am bulimic but do not have any stomach problems. Does it depend on how many years and how many times a week? I am down to about 3x a week or less. There was many years where it would be a couple of times a day.

When a child’s emotional needs are not met and a child is repeatedly hurt and abused, this deeply and profoundly affects the child’s development. Wanting those unmet childhood needs in adulthood. Looking for safety, protection, being cherished and loved can often be normal unmet needs in childhood, and the survivor searches for these in other adults. This can be where survivors search for mother and father figures. Transference issues in counseling can occur and this is normal for childhood abuse survivors. |
