I have a very odd relationship with food. I use to love to eat. I use to eat for comfort. Now, I tend to dislike food. I only eat certain things. I use to like to cook, now I only snack. I try to eat semi-healthy, I am a vegetarian. My weight has fluctuated all my life. My Mother was obsessed with my weight and exercise. "Don't get fat!" she would say, over and over! I ignore my stomach when I'm hungry now. I definitely don't eat as much as I use to. I have practically cut out vegetables and fruit. Some foods gross me out. Do I have a disorder??

If your limitations are interfering with your ability to maintain a nutritionally sound diet, could be, in its own way. Have you spoken with your doctor?

Hi there hunny and thanks for posting. Well, we're not medical proffesionally here but we do know, and suffer from various eating disorders. Very often our problems around food actually stem from issues in childhood, though by no means all eating disorders derive from this. It does sound as though you're on your way to an ED and it's very addictive behaviour. You're already cutting out various food groups which suggests anxiety problems. If you are now loosing weight I'd suggest you contact your family Dr about the possibility of finding a therapist or someone who could help you. HUGS. Xxx

Thank you for your response! Yes, I have been talking to my counselor about this. She agrees with me, that I have a problem... we are going to talk more about it. I have been diagnosed with BPD, Bipolar II... currently medicated for Bipolar, anxiety and depression. I was diagnosed in 2005. Several inpatient stays. I have always struggled with my weight, my body image and food.
