I'm going to go to an eating disorder clinic for inpatient treatment. Right now I'm on a waiting list.

I'm a little bit nervous because even though my BMI is in the underweight category, it's not as extreme as it used to be, and I've already put on a few pounds in recovery. I'm worried I'll be the 'fat girl' there, because everyone else will be anorexic, and I'll be the only one with EDNOS, and by the time I actually get there I probably won't be underweight at all. Is there anyone who has been in an inpatient program that can tell me how many of the patients were not underweight?

The inpatient program I was in everyone with every ED was all thrown together...including for dinner. Think in many ways it made it more difficult for me to relate to the program. Most of the people with bulimia didn't have a problem with their weight.....& obviously those who were OE.....there weren't that many of us who were actually as underweight as I was even.....it's hard to tell.....if you are going inpatient specifically for anorexia....you might have quite a mixture of where they are in their recovery & remember there are those who have been there awhile & are gaining from from the program also. I don't think it will be as bad as you are thinking it will be

So it sounds like I'm going to be there next week. They keep changing the date on me.

I have ednos and I've suffered with anorexic and bulimic tendencies at separate times, which I think my doctor finds difficult to work with.

Not sure why your MD finds it difficult to work with because it's normal for people with ED to deal with many different ways......but most doctors don't really get into what is REALLY under the ED in the first place.....they don't bother working on where it really came from & always want to only treat body image most of the time which is NOT what was the cause of it usually in the first place.
