I've been sick the last about two months with my stomach doctors think gallbladder to the point where I was unable to eat because I was literally sick to my stomach. So I lost a lot of weight. Now I am able to eat a little but has to be a strict diet but now I am obsessed with what I put in my mouth and enter every calorie into an app on my phone. I also try to keep it under 300 calories. I've never really done this before I mean I was never really a big eater maybe once twice a day but never watched what I ate to the point I tracked calories and limited them to that little. I have tried purging after meals before but I've become obsessed with this in the last week since I've just introduced food back into my daily routine. Not to mention weighing myself a few times a day. Also, even when I was in the hospital for being sick I was dizzy and they said I was dehydrated but I was also throwing up and that could have caused it along with not eating. I am now not throwing up and just not really eating and am still getting really dizzy. I try to stay hydrated but I am still getting really really dizzy. My question is with what I am starting to do with obsessing with the calories and restricting (and constantly weighing myself and of I already take a blood pressure pill with a water pill in it I also managed to score another water pill from my cousins stash so now I take two) and weighing myself leading to the beginning of an eating disorder? And, did anyone ever get so dehydrated you felt dizzy all the time when you got up from sitting or bending down? What did you do about it? I'm sorry for the long post I am new to this. I've been in treatment centers for other things like depression amongst other things and I've learned a little about eating disorders from being in there but I am just not too sure if I am heading down that route and need to get help before it gets out of control. Thanks.

This type of behavior sounds exactly like the beginning of an eating disorder.
![]() As for the dehydration, yes, that is a symptom of it. I experienced the same thing while in-patient and I was told to drink a cup of water immediately after if I felt dizzy; otherwise, I had to drink, I think, six full cups of water every day. I really encourage you to seek help/treatment before this gets out of hand. A nutritionist can help you with your strict diet in a healthier way if you would like to look into one. And please don't take any unnecessary pills! ![]() ![]() |
