I have this "friend" who has been developing strange behaviors over the past couple of weeks. She is medically overweight, but looks good. She gained all the weight from taking Zyprexa awhile back. She used to weigh 117 lbs. She gained until 165 lbs. Since the weight gain, her family would make harsh comments about her recent weight gain saying "Are you pregnant?" "You look pregnant." Ect. She wants to lose weight. She is desperate to. She threw up the first time about a couple months ago. Just recently the purging is getting worse. Last night, she ate lots at iHop, but when we got home she threw it all up. This morning, she threw up her drinks. Even a nutritional drink. She wants to go to sleep to not feel hunger. She has lost some weight in the past few days. Now she weighs 158.8 lbs. This encourages her behavior knowing she is losing. She sees a psychiatrist for other issues. He weighs her before every appointment. I'm sure if he sees the significant weight loss next month he will question it.

This "friend" is me. I hate to admit it. I don't want to stop, but I need to talk to someone.

Please bring this up with your psychiatrist. EDs are nothing to play with. Know that you can come here and talk whenever you need, however a trained therapist can help you understand why you are feeling the way you do. You are very brave for posting this. You are walking a slippery slope with the purging. It can do loads of harm to your body, from tooth loss to worse. I wish you the best. HUGS

Yes, talking about it is a good start.
It is very very possible to lose all that weight you gained in a healthy way. And exercise will also help with your other issues too. Trust us, the ED road is one you do NOT want to begin. And it's not too late to turn around.
Please do bring it up with your Pdoc for sure.
Good luck!
