I have bulimia but I managed to stop purging for like two weeks now. But still I get heartburn pains even when I eat. For some reason the pains were less when I was actually purging. Why is it doing that and how can I fix it? I mean is the heartburn pain irreversible. It really hurts.

Welcome to PC! Glad you found us as well as the courage to post!

Your stomach may not be use to food staying in...have you seen a doctor to discuss the heartburn?

I understand how you would feel about going to a doctor...

I'm not sure this is something you want to try to beat on your own though...

Hi...

doctors are there to help us.... so you might want to re-consider...
in my case, they did a test and were able to determine that I had a hernia and that everything was still inflamed.

eating very bland foods, small amounts at a time and taking pepcide ac helped me.... but everyone is different...

get checked out to see if there is any damage

I had that same burning and throbbing pain, however, it is not heartburn. It's damage to your HEART. not just a little upset reaction from a spicy food, its hardcore damage. I thought nothing of it for a long time until I actually found out what was happening to my body. see a doctor asap.

amouse, what have you tried? I use Pepcid Complete (not just regular Pepcid, but "Complete") and that helps me for quite awhile. My doctor confirmed my little online research and said that is better than Tums and the other OTC heartburn stuff.

amouse, i understand that your scared to go to the doctors but they really are there just to help. you never know you might think it is just heart burn but might be somehting totally different. my mom one day made me go to the doctors and i found out i was a very severe case of hypoglysemia. dont feel bad and reconsider going to the doctors.
