It's been two weeks since I quit smoking. I waited this long because I was so affraid of gaining weight but I decided that if I wanted to train for this marathon that I had to get serious. So my problem now is that I am so worried about eating too much that I am starting to restrict again. I've been training for a marathon and was doing well with eating. But now I'm starting to lose weight fast and my training is already being affected. This is so annoying. I either smoke and run slower because of my lungs, or don't smoke and run slower because I'm not eating. Does this even make any sense at all? I'm just going to have to stop being so paranoid I guess. I'm running 40 miles a week, it's ok if I eat a little more right?

Shannon...I am so impressed that you have managed to go two weeks without smoking. You are really over the hump with this terrible addiction. Your post inspires me to try quitting (again!)
I say go ahead and enjoy food! It tastes so much better when one is smoke free, and you can use the extra calories for your training!
Love and good wishes!
