So I've just been diagnosed with an eating disorder and I haven't even had time to really process or accept that and already there is like a strict plan in place!
So even though my bmi is 20 (healthy) I am still struggling with laxative use, restricting, purging, and exercise. I don't starve myself but I feel like if I eat something bad then I should burn off the calories or use a laxative. Also I was using diuretics too. So my doctor has taken my diuretic away last week! Now my therapist is saying that I should eat 1300 calories a day, 3 meals, and no more than 40 minutes in the gym. Isn't this overkill? Who exercises for 40 minutes? Also he said I can't go lower in my BMI either. According to a healthy number I would like for my bmi to be about 19. Not underweight. He said I can't lose any weight. That's not fair. Shouldn't he just support my goal weight since it's still in a healthy range. Half of America doesn't eat 3 meals a day so why do I have too? I mean this is all new to me. I don't get why we can't tackle one thing at a time. It's not fair. He said if I was inpatient then I wouldn't even have a choice; which is what he wants btw. Anyone here have a recovery plan by your therapist? How does it compare to mine? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It is better to have some extra weight. God forbid you ever get phenomonia and not get well cause of it. Extra weight is there for a reason. If your therapist suggested it they know something that will work and you should work with them and try what they say first. Good luck
