Hello,so my best friend(a gourgeous girl)always had those body image issues, she isn't skinny but also not utterly overweight but recently she isn't leaving house because she says she feels so fat and ugly and doesn't want anyone to see her.I am really concerned about her and,as a fellow person who has eating issues I have encouraged her to seek therapy but her mother doesn't want her to go
I try to help her as much as I can but I AM getting really concerned and don't know what should I do to help her.Could You give me some tips, ideas, etc on how could I help her?

You sound like a kind, good friend. I think you have done everything you've can, really. The only thing I can think of what you can do is encourage her to seek professional help through therapy.

I have an ED but tend to isolate for other reasons (anxiety disorder). I think finding some health professionals (therapists) that take her insurance will be very helpful for her. You may need to encourage her and hold her hand while she makes the call to the therapist.

I'm assuming she is not in therapy. If she is then discussing these issues in therepy are high priority, IMO. Does she work or attend school? Or does she literally never leave home?

No,she goes to school but now that is vacation time she is isolating. Here where I live insurance doesn't cover therapy but the main issue is her mother,my friend wants to go to therapy but her mother doesn't allow her
