Bulimia has always been my issue. For 15 years now. I’ll admit, I’m in no way fat but I’m also not comfortable in my skin. I just want to lose 5 damn pounds! A friend of mine did this low carb crap and I was like “hey that’s something new to try!” Well it’s driving me nuts. I’m obsessing over what I’m eating. I’ve probably spent $80 on vitamins that make you lose weight (huge friggin waste!). I’m so deprived of sugar and carbs that I’m soooo cranky all the time and very cold. It feels like having the flu. Well I’ve been at it for almost three weeks now and I stopped weighing myself after week one because the scale wasn’t budging. When I saw I hadn’t lost a pound I slammed my scale onto the floor and had a fit. On a positive note, I haven’t purged since starting this. But this crap is driving me nuts. Just had to vent!

And I hope I don’t give anyone ideas... this diet makes you feel like garbage!

How vexing!!! I’m sorry it’s causing you so much discomfort. Is this going to be long term? Is it healthy? It’s great you’re not purging. I hope your body adjusts to this diet soon and that you lose the 5 lbs. you want. Godspeed. (((((Hugs)))))

Thanks! From what I read, it’s a good diet if you’re prediabetic or have diabetes type 2, which everyone on my moms side has, so there’s a plus I guess. I make sure I get small amounts of carbs in form of veggies (and maybe a few beers on the weekend lol). I actually just stepped on the scale and I’m 3lbs down. Even though it makes me feel ill at times, all my cravings for sugar and junk food are completely gone which hasn’t happened in 15 years of bulimia!!

So it’s not a bad diet... I’m just doing it for a thrill of losing a few lbs no matter how. That’s probably not a healthy mindset.

Is that the keto diet? I did that for a while before I ended up purging. That keto flu sucks. I felt awful for days and my memory was awful. I had a hard time finishing sentences. It probably wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't kept my calories so low too. I did a bunch of research on it and a lot of things said that it's better to start at maintenance calories to get your body used to using fat as the main fuel and then lower your intake, but I just couldn't do it the smart way Obsessed with this diet. Making me nuts!

I’ve been on that diet before and it is horrible. I felt very tired and likenif I had the flu for about a week or so. It’s not easy. Why put yourself through this diet if you recognize that you don’t need to lose weight. Can you see I help through counseling or a nutritionist? I would suggest that before continuing with this self torture.
