Why are you restricting calories by so much. You are currently a healthy weight for your heigth (and on the low end of healthy). You might consider upping your calories to 1200. You shouldnt be gaining weight at that amount. Especially if you're working out. I'm same height and at that weight didn't gain at 1200cal , lost weight at 1000 cal, and if I worked out I could maintain at 1500. This is my situation though. If you are concerned about it you might want to talk to your doctor.

Yes, you need to be concerned! This comes from my doctor who specializes in weight loss - your brain needs minimum of 1000 calories to function adequately and since your brain controls everything else, 500 calories will not sustain you!! Can i ask what drove you to such a drastic choice? Have you discussed this with a physician?
Please, I know very well how important it can feel to need/want/desire to lose weight but what is really going on? If you are asking if you should be concerned ... maybe you already know the answer to that question.

Doing this will ruin your metabolism. I've struggled with anorexia/bulimia for 27 years and I can barely eat anything without gaining weight now.
Thanks for this!
