I have been unhealthy for quite some time but last year I got a huge scare at the dr office. I have a fatty liver. I researched to find out about it and it scared me enough to really work on everything that was wrong. I am down almost 40lbs now and all my numbers are now!! About a month ago I started having severe knee pain and today the meds for that started kicking in! I actually got on the stationary bike and rode 2 miles! woo hoo! Now to jumpstart my plateau!

I need to know what meds you're taking for severe knee pain. I am being sent to a pain clinic next week. My orthopedist took me off Vicodin. I am taking Tramadol and tylenol and using anesthetic type creams.
Congratulations on your progress in getting healthy! ![]() |

I am on milaxicam. works wonders for the knee pain. ask them for that if it is arthritis related. After hurting severely for a month I am amazed by it!

Good paper on NSAIDS for arthritis (meloxicam is "mobic"): http://www.consumerreports.org/healt...gs/Nsaids2.pdf
That's great that you have lost that much weight/gotten it off your knees! I'm going to have my doctor check my knees next time I see him; I fell on one hard (had to go to the orthopedist to make sure nothing horrible had happened/that it wasn't broken or something) Christmas Eve 2010, the second time I fell hard on that knee, that spot (first time in the late 1970's) and suspect it's all arthritis now. Otherwise I'm having a heck of a time with the arthritis in my shoulders.
