I am running a 5K with a friend next spring, and it's been YEARS since I ran, so I know I will need lots of training to get back into it. I'm using the Couch 2 5K program, but I know I will need to repeat weeks a lot because I'm so out of shape! It took me a couple of tries to find the right pace to even complete day 1!

Anyone else doing running training?

I've been doing a lot of 5Ks this summer. I still do a walk/jog combo, so I'm slow. But I have a lot of fun with it. It gives me something to look forward to.
Thanks for this!

I'm doing 5K walking training for a virtual 5K. I'm going on vacation in February where I'll need to walk miles at a time and I'm out of shape too for that.

Certainly am training for running. There are a lot of resources online about how to get your "wind" back for a 5K. This one is free...

i'm about to start a couch to 5k using the sparkpeople website and app.

i'm mostly doing it for weight loss but it will be good to get fit too.

i'm finding the sparkpeople website and app great for fitness and diet, and it's free and has HEAPS of stuff

I used to do a 5K every Saturday. I miss it. But not enough to get out of bed. Sad.

I did not last very long! My neck has been cranked badly all week--persistent problem with the cervical vertebrae after an injury a few years ago and I think the running aggravated it. I've been biking at the gym and I'm going to revise the interval training to ease into it a little more slowly.
