Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if this is the right place for this post, sorry if it's not.
I've been having some health problems lately, particularly with an old back injury. It's become a bit of a cycle where my back hurts so i don't exercise which makes my back worse which makes it harder to exercise . . . you get the idea.
Right now it's so bad, I can't even go shopping with my partner for groceries. Taking the dog to the park is almost impossible, I have to keep sitting down because the pain is so bad. It radiates from my lower back down to the front and back of my thigh.

Unfortunately I don't have very good healthcare at all right now so I need to fix this on my own. I know from experience that with enough exercise, my back improves greatly as does my overall health. I just need to get started and get past this pain problem. I'm not interested in weight loss, just fitness.

If anyone has any advice on how to start, that would be great. From there I feel confident that I can increase my fitness to meet my goal, which is half an hour of speedwalking a day.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, Oliveaux. I also have back problems but have been trying to exercise. I find just walking to be the best. But if I start hurting much, I slow down and then quit. I can see where walking the dog would not work well for us with back pain. And if the grocery cart gets too heavy, then I turn it over to hubby!

My fear is that I will do something that will make my back worse. So, I listen to it, up to a point. I suggest you start slow and gradually build up. And I also take a lot of pain meds!
