I walked this morning (for about 30 min), and I'm so proud of myself. I needed to. Emotionally, it makes me feel so much better, and physically good too. My goal: to exercise at least 30 min Mon-Fri.

Hope your walking routine is still going...I walk everyday and it was tough as first but gets easier with time. You can do it!

I identify with the motivation thing, today I changed into my gym kit before leaving house (normally change at the gym) so there was no going back. Maybe if you get your walking gear on it might have same encouraging effect?

Hi Prefab, that's a good idea and one I've heard before too. I've also heard of sleeping in your workout clothes so when you wake up it's easier.

Today I left for the gym, and forgot my iPod. I didn't want to go back (long story), so I drove to a nearby neighborhood, and just walked because it was nice out.

I'd like to clarify what I mean by exercise. I walk, and I do the gym thing - mainly classes but sometimes I do the machines. So, there's my clarification.

Thanks for the support

Oh hey Prefab! I just saw this. It's going ok, which ain't bad! I forced myself to go to Zumba at the gym today after not being there for 2 weeks. It was rough. But my goal is to go more often. I have been walking.

My goal for today is to go to the gym, my new gym, and exercise. Just do anything for ten minutes because I took a break for my move.

How did it go starrysky? What do you like best in the gym?

I like the eliptical, cross ramp and bikes.

I walked today. Early. About 8:30am. I tried going to zumba after that but there were too many barriers: I was a little late, the parking lot was full, my motivation was waning. Tomorrow's another day, later's another time, yeah :P Perhaps I will go tonight. I plan on going tomorrow.

Hi Prefab, I'd say I like the classes the best. Zumba, dance, and strength class. I also want to try yoga again. I hated it before, but maybe a different teacher might help or a beginner class. When I use the machines, I do the elliptical, bike, and treadmill.

I've been walking to campus a lot instead of taking the bus. Not today though, it's all rainy and nasty out. I will be going to the gym Friday though

How's everyone doing?

My regime has ground to a halt first with back injury then heavy cold. I'm hoping to get back to it next week. Feeling very unfit.

I paddled in the water for twenty minutes. I burned two hundred calories. I wish I had a waterproof Fitbit.

How's everyone doing over the summer?

I have had ups and downs, not swimming in a while but biking to work regularly and trying to run at least 3 times a week.

Well, I guess now would be a good time for me to jump into this thread, since it's been re-awakened.

I started seriously exercising back at the start of May after having one of the worst depression and emotional relapses in years. And I've stuck with it. Which is amazing considering how much I hate exercise.

It's pretty routine, so I don't really have enough interesting to say daily. But I'll try to pop in here every few days.

Today is weights day. Done at home with dumbells. And some additional core exercises and light stretching at the end.

Swimming would be nice, but inconvenient around here. And although I'm looking pretty good these days with my clothes on, there's this paunch hiding under the shirt. And um, does anyone know where I can get some 1910-era style swimwear?

Today was one of my exercise classes, at the community centre in town.

These are the days that keep me going. I've mentioned elsewhere that I need the motivation of attending a class where one or two people expect to see me. But there's only two classes I can manage to attend per week. So I'm forced to unenthusiastically supplement with solo workouts. I did my cardio over the weekend. My motivation there is that the home workouts are needed to survive the harder classes.

I do better with other people too, I try to get to my running club when I can but more runs are solo than not - I am planning to run with a friend tomorrow.
Thanks for this!
