Yep, I've been asked, "How far along are you?" when it's just belly fat (no chance of being pregnant).

How can I get rid of a belly fat? I've had belly fat even when all the other parts of my body were skinny and people told me, "Gosh, you are so skinny" (now my thighs and upper arms are catching up).

You can't spot reduce. If your belly is the last spot to lose fat, then you have to lose it all the other places first. I wouldn't go by what other people say. I was 50 to 75 pounds heavier than I am now for years, so when I lost to about 20 pounds below that people told me I looked skinny even though I was still overweight by a fair amount. BMI isn't perfect, but reasonably accurate for most of us that aren't elite athletes. Check where you are relative to that. I hope I am coming across as helpful; it is not my intent to make you feel bad, but at a healthy weigh most people don't have an inordinate amount of fat anywhere.

I can empathize. A client who hadn’t seen me in awhile said “you had your baby!” Ugh.

I don't want to concern you but my mother who was 50+ at the time had a large belly that seemed like she was pregnant. So she went to the doctor who found that she had a massive ovarian cyst. That was benign. The cyst also brings water to the area making things look bigger. If you haven't has something like that checked out you might want to.

But I have a massive stomach too, and I have had it checked, the only thing that seemed to work was a liquid diet. I believe that a lot of the liquid that says in your body with food comes flying out when you don't eat a lot of food.

One caveat once you start eating food it comes right back.

So far no one has said they thought I was pregnant, but my mom said my belly makes me look pregnant, and I tend to agree. I could pass for a woman about 4 months along, but it is just belly fat. Luckily, I tend to lose weight in the belly first, so when I am not overweight I don't look pregnant.
