I think the current consensus is that diet is more important than exercise among the factors in helping people lose weight.

At Trader Joe's, you can buy 1.5 l bottles of water with electrolytes w which would be much cheaper than buying Pedialyte but with the same effect.

Today, 30 mins of low intensity rowing followed by 75 minutes of delightful restorative yoga.

So far today I had a protein cinnamon bun, a glass of Skinny chai mixed with skim milk, some of a sugar free iced coffee, and Burger Kings new cotton candy cloud. I'm around 830 calories, 151 carbs, and 37 grams of protein.

Same deal with the stomach and nausea stuff so I'm not too hungry today.

I'm not waking up anymore at 3AM to drink soda so I really don't know why the scale isn't moving. I actually haven't touched my soda collection in awhile.

Exercising has been so hard the last 2 days. I have no idea why; I didn't do anything harder. In fact yesterday I did a workout I usually think is a bit easier. But it wasn't yesterday. I just was tired and had a hard time making myself finish. But I did finish both days and hopefully tomorrow will be easier. I have been trying to walk the dog a little in the evening to get some extra steps in but it's far too rainy today for that.

I'm also struggling with the exercise burning calories and making my hungry but if I snack then I'm very hungry in the evening and don't have calories left. I'm not sure what to do about that. I tried increasing my calories by 100/day since I'm using 200 less/day than the app recommended when I started but I couldn't get my weight to stabilize on the higher calories and I know the purpose of the exercise is to burn those calories anyway. I'll figure it out, I just hate running out of calories before I run out of hours in my day.

Nobody ever said this is easy and there's a good reason for that!

Didn't get to exercise like I wanted to today, but the scale has been moving progressively due to my diet and really watching the calories. I have been taking GOLO pills sparsely to help with the weight loss, but I am careful not to take more than two a day due to the fact that they lower your blood sugar. I feel like I am making progress though, slowly but surely.

And @BeyondtheRainbow - it sure isn't easy, it takes a lot of discipline for sure!

Does GOLO upset your stomach? I've seen the commercials and the price is reasonable compared to other stuff.

It doesn't upset my stomach, but it makes you really weak because it lowers your blood sugar. I really hate it sometimes because I get really tired after taking one with a meal and I can't even function, that's why I limited it to one or two a day max.

Strength training after only about 10 minutes of cardio warm-up on an exercise bike. Felt so much stronger than when in the past I would do a whole cardio session before personal training, trying to maximize my gym membership. No, I need to be fresh and not tired to maximize the benefit of resistance training. Good advice from my trainer to warm up just enough.

Also saw my new sports medicine physician for the first time. Discussed anemia and exercise and a few other topics. I told her I am exercising to become stronger and more flexible and not for a number on the scale. She said it was a good attitude but also that the number on the scale would eventually go down with consistent exercise.

The abs feel wonderfully toned after a couple of exercises targeting my core.

I was 3 pounds less at the doctors today then I was on Monday. Which makes sense. I've had about 936 calories today and I've kept everything down. Not sure if it will stay that way. I've taken a pepcid just in case.

My coritsol was actually a bit low. Not sure what that means. The doctor hasn't responded yet.

I've had some coffee but not any soda. And I have had protein sweets but not any Oreos or candy. Idk. Maybe I'm just slowly making lifestyle changes that are working.

Yin Yoga today.

I am actually getting more flexible and able to do deeper poses. I am really happy about this.

Tomorrow I will go swimming if I am able to be up early enough, before my pdoc(t, too)'s appt. The pdoc's office and the pool are in the same town so I sequence these two events, swimming and a visit with him.

I've lost about 6 pounds so far. I'm at my lowest weight since Febuarary 27th. There are many things going on. I'm on a med that can cause loss of appetite and weight loss, I've been sick and throwing up, I started a daily vitamin, and I'm also just determined now to lose the weight.

Today has been easy since I puked up breakfast at 6AM and I haven't been hungry since. I'm drinking a Pedialyte right now and I am at 490 calories once I finish it. I know I need to figure out something else. I might have some rice.

I also unintentionally started doing intermittent fasting and I have no desire to eat or drink anything at 3AM anymore

I have plateaued a bit, the scale isn't moving anymore that much. But you know what? I am not beating myself up over it. I know the weight will go, it will just take time. I just have to keep doing what I'm doing.

The one thing I will say is I do not deprive myself - I cheat on my diet every now and then, and I enjoy the home cooked meals my parents make for me every weekend, which is probably why the scale isn't moving, but I love my parent's cooking. There are probably only a number of years I can enjoy that for.

So far today I've had 1/2 a piece of dry toast. 1/2 a Quest snickerdoodle cookie. A 20oz Mountain Dew. I know I said I was staying away from soda though. A Walmart brand Slim Fast. And 3 sips of a sugar free sweet and salty coffee with skim milk

So far I'm at about 725 calories and everything has stayed down although the coffee was pushing it which is why I stopped drinking it.

I think I'll just stick with rice, apple sauce, and more toast for the rest of the day.

Well now I've thrown up some bile and water and my heartburn med. I was sitting up for awhile hoping it would pass

And then the protein Pop Tart came up too half an hour after lying quietly on my left side waiting for it to fully digetst. Idgt.

So far I've had 785 calories 124 carbs and 40 grams of protein. No idea how much I've kept down and how much I've tossed up

Did do any exercise today was way too tired, but I logged 1,000 calories on MyFitnessPal.

The scale is moving ever so slowly, but it IS moving. Just know it would be moving faster if I was exercising more.

You would feel better, too, if you exercised more. This is not just to nudge the scale. I have read in the books `No Sweat` and `The Joy Choice` by the researcher and practitioner Michelle Segar, see The Joy Choice - Michelle Segar, that if you connect exercising with non-weight-loss goals and especially immediate joy and not long-term health, you will be that much more likely to stick to your exercise program.

If you have time, this book was truly transformative to me. It is written from the perspective of the opposite to "whipping self into submission".
