I am trying to sort through this huge website/forums, and I came across this one. I didn't see any threads about gambling or gamblers? Are there any out there on this website? I sure would love to talk to someone about it. I'll have two months 'clean' tomorrow from a life-time of gambling. Could sure use some continued support from a fellow gambling addict.

Good for you! I am also a compulsive gambler and have been for the past 15 years. I've now been 8 months clean and although it's been a roller coaster of emotions, guilt and temptation (yes, still!) Eight months ago I somehow found the inner strength to try to move on with my life. It's been a struggle, to say the least, but I'm so tired of giving in to my addiction that I finally made the choice to finally quit hiding behind this horrible habit. You CAN do this if you really want to! It's very, very hard...but I think what really helped me is realising that I was "tired of feeling bad about myself" and I knew that there had to be more to life than hiding behind a machine for hours on end. If this sounds like something you've been through, then we can chat! Good luck to you and stay STRONG!!!

I am told I am a alcoholic from my fellow members. I sure as xxxx got some nice advice here.

Guys. Is it true that we addicts need someting to replace the old addiction? Did you guys do that?

WWW had something interesting to add

http://www.brighthub.com/science/gen...les/55015.aspx

This was also very interesting.

http://cognitiveanomalies.com/help-g...omething-else/

I wonder if that is true?

This is likely common knowledge for the professionals but interesting to us. Wonder if the same applice to alcoholism.
