I'll be deleting my account. I haven't been able to chat on there. It is so faulty there. I rather chat on msn. So goodbye facebook... Good riddance. I don't need you in my life.

I actually feel better. I don't have to be addicted and deal with the problems with Facebook.

Every once in awhile I will "take a break" from my FB page. I would LOVE to disconnect from FB; however, the friends on my page are people that I grew up with (K-12, same track) and a few family members that I don't see very often.

I seldom post anything of significance & NEVER post photos of myself (that's another story in another thread).

It's the only way I can keep in touch with people in my life other than snail mail (which I love and continue to send little notes even in this day and age).

I don't have internet / cable at home, so it's actually a motivator for me to drive the 35 miles or so to come in to the office Especially after a long weekend alone. Almost everyone I know is married, has children, a family, does "stuff"...I love reading all the nice things.

Crazy as it sounds, too, two friends are battling cancer (bless them), and they or their SO's keep everyone up to date on how they are doing. And they get lots of support and lovies from far away and distant lands.

I would also quit Facebook but wat keeps me there are the games and my family members that live far away from me. I don't have a cell phone so I can't text them or anything. But kudos for you! Congrats.

Life without FB may turn out to be a good thing

I deleted mine also. I spent too much time on there for nothing + it seems like nothing but drama from my friends these days.
Thanks for this!

I quit facebook, because it's too impersonal. I'd rather talk on phone or in person. It's also a way for people I don't want anything to do with from contacting me. I also started having friend request from people I have never even heard of but just because I had the same friend as some I was overwhlmed by request. What ever happend to writing a letter?

I have a FB account, but I don't go there often...like once a month. I feel that it is like a popularity contest. When I post things there, no one responds, though I have posted "likes," and even comments to others' posts. For someone who is socially insecure, it's not a healthy environment.
Thanks for this!
