I'm 16 and I'm currently being treated for generalized anxiety, depression, and ADD.
I've been somewhat happier and more confident since the start of my treatment (primarily medication), but I often feel fatigued, disinterested in old hobbies, and unmotivated. I can't even finish more than half of a book or TV show without becoming bored. Reading is very, very important to me (and for school), so I'd like to find a way to stay focused. Any advice? Why might this be happening? |

Time for something new!!!! Do you draw or paint? Do you enjoy getting your hands dirty...gardening?
Take a break and do something new. I do understand where you are coming from however. This is the first year in I dont know how many that I am back into my old hobbies. Did you have a medication change? Could that be some of it? |

Hello ComorbidityQs, welcome to Psych Central.
You do not say when you started the medication but it could be your system getting used to it. Medication can take a few months even to work correctly. Please mention to your doctor as it may be that it needs adjusting slightly. Depression can make us feel tired and unmotivated. Anxiety can make us feel so stressed that we can feel unable to concentrate. The ADD diagnosis will also be a factor in this in having difficulty in concentrating. Next time you see your doctor ask about psychotherapy to go with the medication. Therapy will give you some coping strategies.
