Hello aholi, welcome to Psych Central.

Well, you have made a good decision in joining the community here, it's a great self-help group and hopefully you will get lots of tips and support here.

The best treatment for Bipolar and PTSD is medication and psychotherapy. If you are not well enough to go back to work then your doctor is right. Stress has a big part in this and the stress of work might tip you over the edge, so listen to your doctor.

Here are some helplines that might be of some assistance for you. Telephone, Hotlines and Help lines | Psych Central There is help out there to help you keep your head above water. Hang in there, you are not alone.

I am sorry that you are struggling right now. I have ptsd and bipolar as well as a few other disorders so I know how difficult it is. I am working hard to keep it together without losing everything. I hope you find some comfort here.

Hello, aholi. Have you called the state capital to see if you qualify for any public assistance? See here: Alabama Department of Public Safety Perhaps start here and ask to be directed to the appropriate office: General Information: (334) 242-4371.

NAMI may know of programs you may qualify for: NAMI: National Alliance on Mental Illness | State & Local NAMIs

I wish you well.
