My life is so boring and I suffer much because of many things, anyhow this is not what I want to discuss now.
I am thinking of doing something new that can break the boredom of my life, I am already working and studying but I want something besides as entertainment. I tried to learn playing guitar because I love music so much and listening to it on daily basis, but learning guitar is not easy especially I am in the 30s now. I was thinking to buy a camera and learn photography but I am not interested much in this. I like pets and we own two cats already in out home, I like dogs too much as well but do not have much room for one. I really need to find a hobby, I was thinking to buy a bicycle or motorcycle. Anymore suggestions? Thanks. |

I love a bicycle---and my camera---
But, pick something you have some interest in and then, it might help, if you find a group near you (or an adult ed class) to join for a bit or a long time---(eg: go online and look for bike riding clubs/groups, hiking/nature, art/craft classes/meet ups of all kinds, social, political, creative, cooking/-------the possibilities are endless----fishing, astronomy, ---often towns/cities even have free lessons/talks---book groups, toastmasters, group trips to entertainment events....

I'll go ahead and give some more ideas. Also, I really agree with winter4me, and looking at clubs could help form ideas.
There's also dancing such as the more classy, relaxed types to fun, festive types. There are always books... There are thousands on every possible subject with many different types for different genres... You can always do writing, which never requires anything special to do... There's crocheting, knitting, and embroidery, such as adding custom touches to fabrics... There's interior home decorating, which can be pretty fun to some people... There's bird watching and plant collecting, which often includes getting a book about local birds or fauna... There's selling things online, which can be pretty fun too sometimes... You can take long bus rides or join a group that requires you to go long distances... There's volunteering at an animal shelter, maybe doing an hour or two a week or more, and getting to spend time with animals and helping them... There's also art, which can be shared in person or even online. There's also soap, shampoo, and conditioner making, which is nice because you can scent things yourself and choose which chemicals go into them. |

I can relate to this.
I've been doing nothing work and study related for approximately 6 months in the past year. Not so long ago, i had a turning point. I was, just like you, always searching for something to do, but nothing I did satisfied me. Things that satisfied me before became less satisfactory. The searching had to stop. So I decided not to do anything anymore if it came forth out of unhappiness of the moment. It definately helped. Sometimes I just even stare at the sky, or at plants and insects. Often I go for a bike ride without any plans where I want to go, read something etc... It's really much more important how you do something, instead of what you do. Just try to find the joy within the moment. Then it doesn't matter that much anymore what you do. I recommend you reading: "The power of Now" from Eckhart Tolle. Further on you can just take walks, buying a bicycle isn't a bad idea, I ride my bicycle all the time (Though, what interests me might not interest you) |
