Hi. I just spent 4 hours findng a Dr who would perform a psych eval for my bf without demanding cash!
We have a cps case (our kids are in foster care) because I ha a drinking problem. I've been in treatment, etc since this happened. I am doing all as required. The problem is they've found him guilty of neglect because he didn't spend money that does not exist to put out kids in daycare since he knew I was drinking. Our child was perfectly healthy and cared for, mind you. He called the police the one and only time there was any incident and that kicked this all off. CPS is playing hardball now. So he needs an eval. I finally found a place but I am worried about history. He saw a psychologist a year ago voluntarily, as he was stressed out over his divorce. He stopped going after a couple of months. He doesn't like therapy. So we need him to pass this eval without recommendation for treatment. When they ask about prior history and he says none, are they going to check his insurance records? |

He shouldn't lie about having been in therapy. If they find out he lied it will be much worse. There is nothing wrong with having been in therapy and that can't preclude you from getting your kids.

I am not sure, why he wouldn't just say, that he went for a couple of sessions, after his divorce? Unless, it's a court ordered demand for treatment and he is required to attend a certain amount of sessions, I cannot see why only going for a couple of sessions, after his divorce is problematic?

They can spot a lie a mile away....don't mess with them or the eval...they have some questions to specifically detect lying....
