Hello Mayor Dan, welcome to Psych Central.
When someone is in psychosis they can be a danger to themselves or others because they have completely lost touch with reality and are unaware of what they are doing. So someone in the middle of psychosis could commit suicide unintentionally. And it does happen unfortunately.

I have never heard of anyone dying directly from psychosis. Of course the outward effects of psychosis could put someone in dangerous situations.
