Sorry if that seems "rude" or offensive.

THis comment isnt offensive, your past one was. I agree also.

If you are right (and I hope you are) and a psychologist or such-like provides you with an answer that satisfies you I will have to eat my words - a dish I am not unfamiliar with!

If it was the same doctor I met I am not sure he/she really was a doctor - just kidding. Good luck to you.

There are many members here who are not computer or internet savvy. So if we can help them out with some research, why not? It only takes a few moments and it feels good to help someone!

Please, let's not be snarky on these forums. Members post things here for help. This is a support site and what we do is try to help in the best way we can.

The only Doctor of Psychology on this forum or in the chat room is DocJohn, the owner of this site. Even DocJohn does not "practice" here or give anything other than possible options to members who are struggling. This is a "peer to peer" support site, so no other psychologist that may be a member here for their own mental health issues will answer you as a psychologist. We do not allow that here, it is peer to peer support, talking from our own personal experiences.

We have a sister site called the Student/Doctor Network in which we often refer members who are studying in the field of psychology, when they wish to have discussions in that realm. There is also a Social Group that was created for professionals in the field of psychology to get together to communicate. Social Groups are member created, owned and run.

I hope I've been able to clear up a couple of misconceptions here. Any questions, please feel free to send me a pm or any Community Support Team member. Thanks!

From having a gift, as far im sure that gifted means you just picked up a skill without practicing it. For example, a girl is born with an incredible singing skill, she can sing anything perfect versus a girl having to practice just to get to a certain point. A talent, you must work at in order to achive a such a high level.but everyone has different opinion's

thanks for your input everyone. Its just an interesting topic and its even more interesting when it comes to art in particular. Its not easy to "judge" art, because its subjective and whimsical.
Thanks for this!

I'd say gifted is something you just have. However, I see them pretty much the same.
