So I have had trouble sleeping in the past 4 days. This week started really stressful with adding a class (freshman in college) 2 weeks late and had to overload my braid by a huge bout of reading!! Also when I started a abilify 2mg in the morning a couple weeks ago I had the same issue come but I take it at night now and have for like 8 days. I'm a also on pristiq 100mg and just started buspar 15mg today. I am wondering what could be the cause of the insomnia? Do I switch the abilify back to morning?

Taking abilify at night seemed to be working well. But now I'm questioning.

Can abilify switch like that? Making you have to reverse the time you take the pill?

Hello Valerieanne77, welcome to Psych Central.
These medications can take a while to get into your system, it can take a month or more for them to work properly. I would follow the instructions your doctor gave you. You can read up on the various medications here >>> Psych Central Reviews - Medications I would also suggest reading the patient information leaflet that should be in the packet. You could also try asking your questions about medication here >>> Psychiatric Medications Sleep is very important, if you are going for a few days without sleep, then you really need to go back to your doctor for a medication to help you sleep, one of the 'Z' medications such as zopiclone. ![]()
