My doctor prescribed me escifulopram and I've been taking it for about a month now. It seemed to work after first week it started getting better, after 3 weeks my doctor increased the dosage from 10 mg to 15 mg daily.
But now it's the third day in a row when I feel depressed again. I feel hopeless and restless. Also again I am tired for no reason. No suicidal thoughts and I feel more sane than before the meds but, I am worried. Why this sudden change ? I felt optimistic and had normal energy level for a few weeks and it seemed to be improving. Is it possible I bought a bad batch of meds or something ? |

Chances are that it's just not the right med for you. It could also take a little longer for the raised dosage to really start helping. Talk to your doctor, before things get worse.

Hello PsychSearcher0,
Bear in mind that it takes 4 to 6 weeks for the medications to get fully in your system. After three weeks your doctor upped the dose, that means only one week on the upped dose. Also remember that medications are not a miracle cure, they help us to cope but you also need to find other things to put in your coping toolbox. Please let your doctor know if your condition is worsening. ![]()

I would add if this started when you got a refill and it was a different brand, I would have some suspicions. I'm one of those people who have to stay on the same brand or I will get ill.

Depression comes and goes. It is like a rolling roller coaster. For me, sometimes it's really good. Other times, really bad.
