I have absolutely no money to spare, and there are no sliding scale or free options around me, I feel lost and helpless.

Every American has access to free or low-cost healthcare at this time. You should have access to psychiatric medication if you need it...if you go to your local ER and tell them you need psychiatric help they will hook you up with that help.

BUT if by "therapy" you mean talk therapy, I have no good suggestions for you. I need to be in talk therapy, too, but no way can I afford it. I think the situation is abominable. The only thing I can think of is finding a free support group to attend. (Check NAMI online.)

I had severe anger that led to my inability to function.
What I did was t learn to meditate, I was helped by the stilling of my mind.
It was a spiritual outcomd that was also involved.
Before that I lived on valium, NO more.
I no longer suffer from my emotional problems, I no longer fall into my
Thoughts. My mind is at peace. And it didnt cost me a dime.
I wish the same for you.
I know what you are going.

Without the expendable income to afford professional help, about all we have is each other.

I think it's deplorable and inexcusable that people in the "middle class" can't go to a psychologist! Unless you are dirt poor or retired on medicare, you are expected to pay on your own, and yet it costs so much that none but the rich can afford it.
If you haven't done so already, you might look on-line or in the phone book and see if there are any county clinics in your area. Sometimes hospitals and clinics don't advertise it, but when someone comes in and expresses the need, they have a fund that will help you out. It is a state/county partnership but you have to dig it up and go convince them.
