A situation:

An 18 year old male meets a 19 year old female and offers to take her to breakfast at 12 AM(midnight). She agrees and gets in his car. He drives past the rest the restaurant and heads out of town, against her will. Driving at a high rate of speed and running red lights, she is unable to get out of the car.
About 45 minutes later, in the town he lives in, he is pulled over by police because of the way he is driving.

The woman runs from the car to the officer. The man is arrested for kidnapping. The woman said the man kept asking if she was frightened, and said things such as, "I feed off your fear".

My question is, what kind of a personality disorder might this be, "feeding off your fear"?

Thank you

Hi Fukushima Meltdown

This is an interesting situation.

What kind of personality disorder might this be: "Feeding off your fear?"

To be truthful I am not sure really.

I did find this article though that you might want to have a read through:

LIFE AS A HUMAN - WHAT CAUSES A PERSON TO BECOME INTENTIONALLY CRUEL:

LIFE AS A HUMAN ? What Causes a Person to Be Intentionally Cruel?

Have a read and see what you think.

Feeding Off Your Fear, means He enjoys being in Control of Her. This is all about Control. BPD can be this, but this could also fit under many different things.

Thanks for the link Hooligan. The woman that wrote the article put some thought in to the issue. She may be right in certain instances, but I believe there are many possibilities to explain what causes such behavior.

I think the man that I referred to enjoyed making the woman scared. I wonder what he planned to do with her.

This hits close to home because I know the woman who, years later, married this man. As of right now, he is awaiting sentencing for mentally and physically abusing her, violently. The conduct began when they were dating and continued throughout their marriage. She hid the abuse, until he threatened to hurt their infant child. She almost died and I believe if she had not called 911 when she did he would have killed her at some point in time. For him it was all about TOTAL CONTROL and ABUSE.

Maybe with the additional information someone might be able to understand what kind of personality disorder this guy has.
