I have been trying to find some sort of free counseling. I wouldn't mind if it's one session, but I have been looking online and can't find it. I can't afford a therapist now and I don't think they would give a discount for the service. Any suggestion?

This forum can help. None of us are registered counselers, but our input can be helpful.

I found one counselor on a sliding scale was 40.00 dollars a session. I know some non-profits will do sliding scale also depends on income. A Catholic run counseling center also. I'm sure there are more. This site has good experienced people that can answer some questions you might have. Good luck!
Thanks for this!

made08 yes florida has free mental health services...you can contact your area churches, salvation army, St vincent du paul (sometimes gives free vouchers to those in need), some mental health agencies and colleges also offer free mental health care though generous donations funds from the community. you might try those places. you can also go to your local human services office and sign up for medicaid. here in the USA all americans must have basic health care insurance either private or state. or pay a huge fine. your welfare (cash\foodstamps/medicaid office) can give you more information on how to get signed up with state medical \mental health insurance.
