So there is a guy on my campus that I've noticed staring at me for a while. At first I caught him a couple times, but now I seem to see him everywhere, and whenever I finally notice him he is already looking at me.
Whenever I meet eye contact, he holds and does not loo away. Whenever he comes anywhere near me, he will violently turn to avoid me or cross the street while still staring. He is always angry looking, and I have never seen him talk. Just today, I caught sight of him across the cafeteria- Completely turned around in his chair and looking at me. Dead still. I waved my fork, cause I figured maybe he was zoning out? Nope. Looked me dead in the eye and didn't move a muscle. After that I left, and when I turned around the outside of the building, I looked in through the window and he was sitting there, staring. It is not necessary the staring that bothers me, but the erratic behavior and obvious anger. I am not interested in trying to diagnose him, or figure out what causes him to behave this way. All I want to know is if I should start being concerned, especially considering he seems to have parts of my schedule figured out. Help? |

Talk to the campus po. Careful with flatware gestures; in some counties in Texas, waving a fork is tantamount to brandishing a firearm.

Never look at him directly, watch him out of the corner of your eye. You can do this by looking and an object and seeing him in your side vision. Face sideways and close the eye on his side of your head, and watch him with the other eye over your nose. As suggested above, notify the Authorities. Never let him know that you are watching him!

I agree that campus police should be notified and I'd agree that it is best not to "engage" with him by directly staring back, etc. Be mindful of your surroundings, of course, and do talk to the campus police ... better safe than sorry. xoxo
